The oversight plan includes brief summaries of some of the service’s major program areas. For example, under Navy aviation and weapons programs, it reads, “The committee plans to devote a significant amount of effort in oversight for Navy and Marine Corps aviation acquisition programs in an attempt to forestall any degradation to the striking power of afloat carrier battle groups or the logistics ability afforded by medium and heavy lift helicopters.”
