The best thing the Obama Presidency has done for this country
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 06:29 PM by lunatica
Is show us the corrupt truth of the Republicans and their masters on Wall Street. The corrupt and ugly underbelly is exposing itself in an unprecedented way through their own actions and words.

I think that's a good thing, because I happen to think that Truth is a good thing to know. Without it the OWS wouldn't exist right now. Knowledge truly is power and telling truth is its weapon.

10. See, if you read the OP again
You'll notice I didn't credit Obama with anything. I credited the Obama Presidency and the fact that because the Republicans hate it so much they've basically shown their asses.

23. That's not a revelation. They make no bones about the fact that they
work primarily for the wealthy and corporate America. They've been bragging about it for years, and their base is fine with it.

I have a hard time seeing the Obama Administration's corruption as anything other than tragic. They've proven that the whole government apparatus is in Wall Street's pocket-- not just the GOP.

25. No. They haven't been bragging about it for years.
Some of us have been suspecting it for years, and some of the truth has come out over the years, no thanks to the corrupt MSM, but now the truth is being exposed for real in spite of their best efforts.

30. Supply-side economics is bragging about it.
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 10:25 PM by Marr
Claiming that reducing taxes increases tax revenues is bragging about it. Talking about the poor and the working class in all that coded language is bragging about it. "Some people call you the elite, I call you my base" was bragging about it. They've been stating it clearly since Reagan, at least.

34. That is disinforming and lying to make excuses trying to cover for their real agenda
It's pure propaganda. Bragging is when we hear things said like Enron did about the way they overcharged people in California. It's not the same as lying.

12. Corruption is also on Wall Street and the Banks
But up until now we didn't get to see it so clearly. The Obama PRESIDENCY is what I'm talking about. The hatred it stirred up has brought the corruption blatantly to the fore. And the OWS was created by this knowledge.

No. I'm not kidding. But if you would read with a little more care you might have understood that.

39. the blinkers are way too tight dude
So you'll give this president a PASS on the FACT that he has in his cabinet one of the ENABLERS of the economic collapse? Yeah, I read *carefully*, but I'm not willing to give this administration a pass when they are utilizing a man who is more likely to spend his time covering up the crimes of his cohorts than doing anything of substance for the middle classes.

Seriously, all this worshipping at the feet of a man who surrounds himself with CROOKS is as bad if not WORSE than the pukes and their Bush idolatry.

WAKE UP.

13. And Wall Street and the banks have also been shown to be corrupt
Before the Obama PRESIDENCY came along they all managed to keep it just below the surface so we couldn't actually see the truth, although many of us suspected it. Now it's all out there. Facts are good things to know.

32. well yes..its nothing new or special about the Obama Administration
It is more the the issue of the near economic collapse and bailout along with high unemployment and ever increasing income disparity that has brought it to light. Many people may have unrealistically expected a Democratic President and the Democratic leadership to act differently. The Clinton Administrations was pretty much the same. But since the economy was doing quite well at the time - people just didn't notice or didn't care as much when it wasn't personally affecting them.

But their rank amateurs compared to the Republicans. And there are quite of few who aren't corrupt. Name me one Republican you think is honest or cares about anyone other than their wealth and masters.

and the wealthiest 1% is... just great, because it let's the Republicans show how corrupt *they* are?

I'm afraid it takes two corrupt parties, with the collusion of a corrupt presidency, to pull off the schemes we're seeing.

24. What I said is the Republican's hatred for Obama was what shed light on the truth
about them. And the fact that all this racism and greed and corruption has been shown is the truth glaring us in the face. And I also said that the truth is a good thing to know and that knowledge is power. And that the OWS is Occupying 100s of cities all over the world because we've all seen the facts.

Maybe you should read my OP again with a little more care.

Are you suggesting that the Obama Administration deserves some credit for OWS? It certainly seems like it, but that would be like saying GW Bush deserves credit for new construction projects in New Orleans.

This is what I said, "The best thing the Obama Presidency has done for this country". Please note that I said the Obama PRESIDENCY (note the word Presidency) not President Obama or the Obama administration, or that they deserve anything or not deserve anything.

but if you can't understand the correct use of words then it doesn't matter how well or poorly I write.

You keep insisting that the phrase "Obama presidency" denotes something distinctly different from "President Obama" or "the Obama Administration".

The terms are practically synonymous. I can't imagine how that phrase could possibly change your point, as I've understood it.
