So how to deal with provocateours?
First off it is painfully clear they will come. Does the sun rise in the East?

Smile, keep a sense of humor, remain calm

Isolate

Move away

Do not take bait.

As a group pointing and public shaming works.

But do not play into the tactics.

Will they come? Is the pope catholic? We are relearning all this.

1. Get proof!
If you know a PI, get photos and any other information (full name, DoB) from the suspect and ask them to check the person out. You might get proof they're a cop or an informant, which you can then use to warn other activist groups as well as let Americans know through the net that COINTELPRO is back (or never left).

2. Encountering people taunting police, I endorse walking away in the opposite direction
Create an open space where the provocateurs are isolated. It's good for safety and PR too :)

4. It also makes getting footage easier
Lots of video footage, with audio, so everyone knows what they're saying.

5. Now, during the computer era, it might be easier to trace
If you can't track a 'real name' person's trail they might not be for real.

Yet, intelligence agencies might already have devised an agent's online profile. Starting in college, which financing they supplied. The CIA, NSA through 'shell scholarship' organizations still recruits people early and funds their educations and placements in certain companies.

Is Any of That Face-Recognition Software Available to the Public?
If anyone sympathetic to OWS has access to that capability, that would be a nice turnabout.
