1. Los Angeles' flower district is right nearby OccupyLA. I like the idea of tossing bulk loose

flower petals over the police if they try to evict. Scatter them at their feet if they are being nice.

2. Yes, it could hurt

The second you extend your arm toward an officer, they can and will call it assault or resisting arrest, and you'll be arrested.

A better idea would be just to sing something like "God Bless America" or "This Land Is Your Land" or the national anthem while the police are in full bully-cop mode. It would be poignant and further highlight how peaceful the protesters are and how horrible the cops are acting.
