Occupy Austin - 38 Arrested
Video - http://austin.ynn.com/content/top_stories/281180/after-arrests--occupy--apd-agree-cooperation-is-needed

Update:
In the wake of the 38 overnight arrests at Occupy Austin, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo and Assistant City Manager Michael McDonald held a press conference to express their appreciation for the demonstration’s non-violence attitude, but also their regret that the situation led to so many demonstrators arrested.

Just heard on the local news that those arrested would not be permitted to return. Hmmm....

1. It is that non violent attitude that's screwing with minds
Ghandhi works.

2. Then let them show their regret and good intentions
By dismissing all charges and not allowing anyone to end up with a record over this.

I have a few of these now in response to my posts. Seems I've enraged some of you enough to violate the forum rules. I must be doing something right. If some people can't hack civil discourse, maybe you should look to your own uncertainties before you take your opinions and your questions to a message board.

5. Violating the DU rules is not "doing something right" unless that's exactly why you're here.

6. I'm talking about when people violate the rules because of something I've said
When people get angry, I know they're usually unsure about something they want to be sure of. That means they're thinking and trying not to. Which is a good thing in a society that has conditioned all of us to not think much about politics at all. So I don't mind that people are angry or even uncivil. But I intend to remain civil and calm.

7. I'm sorry, but that seems totally resonable to me.
Don't serve food between 10pm-6am. Move when they come to clean- like you've been doing since day one, and then go back. I don't see why anyone needed to be arrested.
