3. So, she shouldn't have gotten divorced because people are struggling?
That $10 million paid caterers, dress makers, bakers, photographers, etc. I hope she gets married a couple more times to pump for more cash into the economy.

12. That may be, but somewhere down the line, someone paid for the materials
and labor to fabricate the items donated.

8. Exactly! Would anyone rather she have kept her money in stocks and bonds?
It's not like she would have been giving it to OWS or the Sierra club.

9. Well, let's be fair...$10 million probably employed at least SOME people
and now some lawyers will make money from the divorce. One might even call her a "job creator."

11. Take heart
When Chelsea married and spent $2 million many here on DU reassured us that this was not overly lavish spending on frivolous luxuries; it was spending in the local economy for dress makers, tailors, caterers, etc. When others said this smacked too much of fickle -- I'm sorry, I meant to say TRICKLE -- down economics our concerns were dismissed. In a fit of cynical pique I wondered if Chelsea was given a pass for no reason other than her pedigree. I was told I was mistaken.

So, to take heart and let us rejoice that Ms. Kardashian (sp?) has given 5 times the economic boost seen from Chelsea's wedding; and if history is any guide Ms. Kardashian will have many more economic stimuli in her future.

14. Lets do math
Spent $10 mil, gained $18 mil = Net result is +$8 mil.

Not bad, given the publicity this has generated for Kim too.

Meanwhile Reggie Bush is languishing on a terrible Dolphins team. At least he is Miami.

A $10 million wedding must have taken a lot of florists, cooks, decorators, waiters, ect.

I mean beyond the prior jumping of the shark.

Just read some F/B comments. Fans aren't happy at all.

As for the $18 million she pocketed, one word: grifter.

2. I'm shocked they have the nerve to be surprised that the 'marraige' was anything more than reality TV/publicity whoring/cash and gift grabbing/fake celeb worship

3. In the world of reality TV celebs, there's no such thing as "ruining your brand" as long as you're in the spotlight and people keep talking

So what's next? The talk show circuit? A new tell-all book? A new reality series? Or does she bide her time before picking a more famous athlete/actor/rap star to marry next year and starting the whole charade all over again?

35. From what I read, Kim's PR folks went to several young NBA stars about 'dating'
They scrubbed the story out of Wiki, but from what I read her PR folks looked for an NBA player she could date and do all the PR blitz. There were a few names who turned her down. Perhaps Humphries would have been smart to do the same.

46. And didn't I read that "real" (emphasis on the quotes around the word) celebrities
attended her wedding? Were they paid to do so?

Besides being an exceptionally pretty woman, I have absolutely no idea why anyone would care about this person. She will forever be known to me as the girl who got famous because of a sex tape of her and Brandy's D-list brother. Gross.

Especially since the divorce is gonna separate her from even MORE money.

Stupid people seem to have most of the money. We are smart enough to separate them from it. We just need to work harder at it, lol. Go drown your sorrows with a $1 million shopping spree, Kim dear.
