Cain's "sexual harrassment" story will give him a bump in the polls. |

In a rational world, a story like this would be enough to derail the campaign of a presidential hopeful.
This isn't a rational world though, and GOP/Tea Partiers are not rational people. Right on cue, liberal hate-speech from the usual suspects is tossed out like red meat to GOP voters. So instead of seeing Herman Cain for what he really is, GOP voters will feel sorry for him; he's a victim being attacked by those dirty liberals. He makes a statement and echoes the same sentiments in a softer way, then says he now knows what it feels like to be #1 (and persecuted, you know, like Jesus). This will increase Cain's likeability and that's all that matters with GOP voters.
One may question why he's likeable in the first place, and why he's getting so much support. Like I said, GOP/Tea Partiers are not rational people.
Maybe Romney needs a scandal of his own so he's more appealing.

Obama candidate of family values. Good Christian. Good moral man.
Cain candidate of sexual harassment. Dishonest. Unqualified.

5. But did Cain's campaign start the rumor for this very reason? |
|
Or, more likely, did a GOP competitor do this and possibly inadvertently help him?
