Two 12 year olds In Custody After Falling Shopping Cart Critically Injures Harlem Woman

A bizarre incident has left a woman in critical condition in Harlem.

A 47-year-old woman was walking with her 14-year-old son outside the Target store in East Harlem Sunday night.

Witnesses said a group of kids pushed a shopping cart off the fourth floor walkway that connects the store to a parking garage.

The woman was struck on the head by the falling cart.

Moments before, Carlos Vargas, 35, said he spotted the young hooligans pushing the cart near the fourth-level parking lot.

“Their friend was trying to stop it, saying, ‘Don’t do it!’ ” Vargas recalled. “But they didn’t care.”

“Whatever happens, happens,” Vargas said one of the teens responded before they launched the cart from the overhead walkway.

The cart bounced off a sign before landing on the unidentified woman below, witnesses said.

17. Sleepers

Reminds me of the beginning of the movie Sleepers, the kids pull a prank by stealing a big hot dog cart and pushing it down the street and it goes down the subway stairs and hurts somebody. They end up in juvenile hall and it goes on from there.

19. I agree 12 year old boys do pretty stupid things but

just like the friend that was telling them not to do it...in most kids there is an off switch that tells them to not cross that line.

I am having a hard time justifying sending these kids to juvi and then closing their records at 18. We are seeing way too many cases where these type of kids end up doing something worse after 18.

I don't know what the answer is...

I hope the woman recovers 100%.
