Canadian iman who was assaulted by police while leading prayers and falsely arrested
has been released after 36 hours in horrid conditions. The iman says it would not be wise at this time to give interviews. He was assaulted and arrested while in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Witnesses say he was strangled by religious police who then arrested him without reason. Human Rights groups have suggested that he may have been singled out because he is a Shite which is frowned on by Saudi Sunni Muslims.
