Eviction of OWS at 7 AM tomorrow!
I just found out that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are being
evicted from Zuccotti Park at 7am tomorrow morning.

Mayor Bloomberg is sending in the police to clear the park so it can be
"cleaned" and is imposing new rules that won't allow protesters to
continue to occupy the park.

These protesters have been standing up for all of us against corporate
greed on Wall Street and the corporate takeover of our democracy. It's
time we stand with them. Please join me in urgently signing a petition to
Mayor Bloomberg to keep him from evicting the protesters. Just use the
link below.

3. That's not an ex post facto rule
That's a rule saying "get out of the park at 7 am tomorrow". That's the opposite of ex post facto.

15. If the rule wasn't there and the parks became occupied, then
they passed the rule while the parks are occupied, thats ex post facto..after the fact.

21. Well, no. Ex post facto would be "it was illegal for you to be here yesterday"
This rule is "it will be illegal for you to be here tomorrow" which is, again, the exact opposite of ex post facto.

20. Ex post facto rules haven't worked in Nashville.........
So far at least. We've got some pretty reasonable judges here apparently. The state government... meh, not so much.

4. I think that action may be out of date
I think this was referring to something that was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago but ended up not happening.

9. Yeah, hoping that's what it is. Protesters ended up cleaning the park.
Since then they've had community board meetings where they agreed to only drum certain hours of the day so as not to disturb the residents. Bloomberg did just have the FDNY clear out generators and something else, so now the protesters have built bicycle powered generators that everyone is welcome to ride to help create some energy. So it's a free work out club!

6. Do they think our cameras don't work at 5am?
Do they think we won't take all footage and go viral with it, again? Yes, Virginia, I think they really, really are that stupid.

8. MoveOn needs to update its website
This is an old action. It's from a couple of weeks ago. MoveOn just hasn't taken the action off its front page.

11. How many people are there? This is a multi-million population urban area,
so if in Madison, WI we were able to get tens of thousands of protesters at the capitol and up to 100,000 or more at times then that number should be possible in NYC.

If there are tens of thousands of people they cannot all be arrested because where would they put them all? When push comes to shove we need thousands of more bodies there.

19. There was a 7 month old story that got 250 recs, many AFTER it was pointed out
that not only was the article was from April, but what the headline specifically said happened never had happened at all. It was just an idea.

THEN a second post with the exact same headline and linking to the exact same 7 month old article got 70 recs, many after it was pointed out to be old and false!

13. Unrec'd
The is no reference to this at OWS or any other news or blog site. Either MoveOn is irresponsibly trying to raise concerns about an event two weeks ago, or the OP is rehashing a page that's two weeks out of date.
