Protesters Hershey's chocolate on fair trade principle

(10-31) 17:16 PDT SA FRACISCO -- Thousands of Bay Area residents are kissing off Hershey's chocolate this Halloween to protest its use of cocoa that is not fair trade certified.

The Raise the Bar campaign, organized by Change.org, is denouncing the chocolate giant for not importing cocoa that has been vetted to meet certain environmental and labor standards.

More than 2,500 of the petition's more than 51,000 signatures against Hershey's came from the Bay Area, said Change.org spokeswoman Charlotte Hill.

"No way will my family, friends, or I purchase another morsel of Hershey chocolate until this company commits to purchase only fair trade certified cocoa," said San Francisco resident Mary Flynn on the petition website.

1. I've been boycotting them for two years
Ever since they moved their Canadian plant to Mexico, throwing 200 people in our area out of work.

One of their selling points is that they got good, rural Canadian milk to make their mild chocolate. Now who knows what quality of milk they use. Probably some synthesized milk powder.

5. Yoga mat soaked in motor oil?
Hershey does not even try to market in Europe, in fact I don't think it would even classify as chocolate.
