Rand Paul cozies up to nutcase Birther radio host

Meet Tom Roten, a local virulent homophobe and rightwing nut who helms Clear Channel's flagship station in Huntington, WV. Roten has a long history of demonizing minorities on WV-OH-KY airwaves, so it's no surprise that he's been a strident birther, hosting nuts like Jerome Corsi and Joseph Farrah on his show to spew nutcase conspiracy theories about the president.

A few weeks ago, Roten sunk to a new low, still clinging to birtherism and comparing the president to terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki in a screed titled "Anwar & Barack":

Both were raised in a Muslim background. Both became influential leaders promoting fundamental change. Anwar lied about the location of his birth to better his career. Barack lied about the location of his birth to better his career. Anwar denied being born in the US, even though he was. Barack claims he was born in the US, even though his Obama Sr.'s mother says he wasn't!

But, apparently, such idiocy isn't too insane for Kentucky's tea party and Republican U.S. Senator, Rand Paul, who is set to kiss Roten's ring Tuesday.
Roten writes today:

US Sen. Rand Paul (KY-R) will be back on my show tomorrow morning at 8:35am ET!

Sen. Paul will talk about No Child Left Behind, GOP’s job bill, and a tele-townhall tomorrow night at 7:15pm ET that he will be hosting.

Is there anyone on the fringe that Senate Republicans will consider too extreme to embrace?
