13. Most banks in any major market...
have at-least one branch open for abbreviated hours on Saturdays.

Usually it's in a business district or the major branch; while they're publicly open...it not really for personal depositors, it's for the benefit of retail businesses and restaurants. Make their Friday deposits, get more change and small-bills if they overshot demand, small M-F businesses like it because it allows them a time to meet with the business banker without taking time out of the workweek. The contractors come in and get cash to pay their workers or the workers come in en-masse with the manager so he can make the weekly payroll deposit and they can all cash their checks.

Focus on the bad shit that banks do to customers during those hours that good credit unions that are member oriented won't do.

Anonymous is going to save us all. Which, due to the nature of Anonymous, means that we're going to save ourselves. :)

Speaking of which - I heard they were playing the 1812 overture at OWS the other day. ;)

20. Far from it.
Bank Transfer Day... http://www.facebook.com/Nov.Fifth

While the Bank Transfer Day movement acknowledges the enthusiasm from Occupy Wall Street, the Bank Transfer Day movement was neither inspired by, derived from nor organized by the Occupy Wall Street movement, and the Bank Transfer Day movement does not endorse any activities conducted by Occupy Wall Street.

32. What makes you think that?
The mask pictured in the CU ad, was lifted from the "Bank Transfer Day" website.

The founder of BTD herself has explained the reason for the Nov 5th date (Guy Fawkes Day).

The Guy Fawkes image/mask (as seen in "V For Vendetta"), owes it's current popularity to Anonymous/4Chan.

Personally... I think the whole Guy Fawkes thing is silly, and the people running around wearing that particular mask look even sillier.

41. Disagree. If they didn't want to be associated with OWS they would
NOT have chosen to use that particular image. Yes, we get it; you don't like the movement or the message. That's been obvious for quite some time now.

Edited on Tue Nov-01-11 08:54 PM by -..__...
or the TruMark Credit Unions use of the image?

If it's the former... the founders own words and purpose say otherwise.

If it's the latter... then they are just as confused and have a wrongful interpretation as you do.

Someone took a silly image (from a movie no less), co-opted it, and applied it to their purpose

Yes, we get it; you don't like the movement or the message. That's been obvious for quite some time now.

O'rly?

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

I may or may have not posted comments that cast my doubt on the OWS movement (I don't really don't recall anything at the moment).

I know for a fact that I haven't thrown any shit on the ideals and purpose of the OWS (if it's of any importance... I have been down to the OccupyBoston encampment).

I'm just not one to fully embrace and unquestionably trust in a movement just because it sounds nifty.

I'll need to give it time before I have any opinion of it.

Otherwise... it's just another flash in the pan.

If by your comments you mean my negative attitude/hostility towards Anonymous...

Well, you're right on there.

They really are just a cluster fuck of immature, hypocritical, vandalizing assholes.

Or are they simply capitalizing on the opportunity to bring in new accounts from a competitor?

But yeah, I think the patriotic themed scary face touch is little bit overboard for a professional/serious institution.

21. Too cool for words! People are FINALLY waking up!
I simply love this- for decades the "too big to fail" financial
institutions have brainwashed people into thinking that banks
were the only way to operate in a financial sense.
It simply never was and is not true.
The jig is up, as the saying goes.
I look forward to seeing them swallowed by their own greed.
Serpent devouring its own tail and all.
My money is in my local credit union and I sleep well
knowing they are not spending it gambling on criminal
financial schemes like the banksters.

been very involved with the Global Revolution which came to the US on Sept. 17th called OccupyWallStreet. People associate the mask with the worldwide movement against the Wall Street money that has corrupted governments around the world.

while at the same time remaining anonymous.

Wearing the mask makes us a strike force that cannot be individually character assassinated or outright killed by the PTB.

to kill a monarch so that he'd be replaced by one of a different religious affiliation.

His plot failed and he met a particularly nasty end at the hands of the authorities.

64. It was a little more complicated than that
Another factor was his the influence of his step father. He was a Catholic Denis Bainbridge of Scotton. His family was known for their resistance against the authority of the Church of England. Due to his influence, Guy became a Catholic at the age of 16. He then, came to know about repression of Parliament on local Catholics. The murder of Margaret Clitherow has a lasting affect on him. She was murdered because she had harbored a Catholic priest at her home so she was crushed to death.

The king had enforced new laws against the Catholic religion.
