Corporations are turning common Americans into lobbyists |
|
I can't get over it: everyday people convinced to shed tears for banks, financial institutions, oil companies, and other corporations.
Quite literally, these companies are turning regular folks into lobbyists. The best part? They work for FREE, persuaded that they should appeal to the government to cut taxes and drop regulations.
This is fucking insane.
And if I hear one more person whine, on companies' behalf, about their "missed revenue" due to new regulations, I will fucking lose it.
"Well, Bank of America wouldn't have had to think of the $5 fee if they didn't have to compensate for missed revenue because of Frank-Dodd", I was told today. Missed revenue? They shouldn't have been making that fucking revenue in the first place!
This is how this is supposed to work. Banks screw people; people complain to elected representatives; representatives create rules to prohibit banks from screwing people. But, oh no, this is "government intervention!" NO SHIT. These are the same people who harp on about how government should be by the people, for the people. Well, here you go; it finally did a little something FOR the people and now you're complaining? God damned idiots!

2. This country abounds sadly with "God damned idiots!" Otherwise, we wouldn't |
|
be in this F'en perpetual mess.

3. Ask them to name one 'new regulation'. What I got back was the 'new' prohibitions against the use of |
|
lead paint. Think about all the recalls we've had for lead paint on jewelry or toys. What kind of person would object to a regulation that saves the lives of children?
