Man arrested after recording conversation with PBSO deputies
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/crime/man-arrested-after-recording-conversation-with-pbso-deputies-1944991.html

A "belligerent" 21-year-old was arrested early this morning on charges of eavesdropping for taping the encounter he had with deputies during a traffic stop.

Carl Paul, of Pompano Beach, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $4,500 bond. He is charged with illegal interception of communication.

Paul was arrested in Lantana shortly after midnight, when a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy pulled him over near the area of Hypoluxo and Highridge roads. The backup deputy noted in the probable cause affidavit that Paul was being "very belligerent" as he sat on the side of the road questioning the traffic stop, while the deputies ran his name through the system.

Paul allegedly repeatedly asked the deputies for their names while his iPhone sat on his leg. The deputies eventually noticed that Paul was recording the conversation. When he was asked, Paul said he was "documenting what was happening," the affidavit stated.

1. There's no fucking way the cops are acting within the law when they're so anxious to cover it up!
And no, it's not the same as saying "if you haven't done anything wrong you've got nothing to hide."

These cops aren't in their own space living their own (private) lives. They are out in the public using powers that only they are given to stop, arrest, threaten, and assault members of the public.

They SHOULD be on record.

3. Let's see
Belligerency (or uppity BM) was his first crime. Check.

Questioning the legitimacy of the traffic stop (DWB) was his second crime. Check.

Documenting the event to prove his innocence as well as any misconduct by the LEOs was his third crime. Check.

"illegal interception of communication" WTF?

4. Cops need unaccountability, they need theirs to be the only story heard.
