Just got an email from my credit union about "Bank Transfer Day"

love them!!! Here's what it says:


Every day, we hear comments like, "I would never go back to a bank." and "Credit Unions are the way to go!" We know it, and our members know it. But, there's a new movement afoot, and on November 5th there's a day marked just for those who have decided to take back control of their finances and put their money in the hands of a not-for-profit institution – a credit union. It's called Bank Transfer Day, and it's allowing people from all across this country to take flight from their bank and become a member of a financial institution that offers great rates on loans and higher interest on savings, PLUS works for the good of each and every member! Perhaps it's merely a wake up call to corporations that the people demand better treatment. If that's all it turns out to be, then it will have been successful.

We think everyone deserves better. If you're a member of XXXX XXXXX Credit Union, tell your family and friends. November 5th is just one day - but it's an important reminder that you have a choice. We hope you choose to place your financial resources in the hands of an institution who cares about you, not just profits.



My new-ish husband still has an account at citibank who are going to start charging him a monthly fee...I'm trying to convince him to move.
