Romney Camp Responds To ThinkProgress Report Linking Him To Massive Ponzi Scheme
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/11/01/358670/romney-ponzi-respond/

In an e-mail to National Journal’s Chris Frates, the Romney campaign attacks ThinkProgress as “a left-wing blog with a highly partisan agenda.” Despite calling our story “false material,” the Romney spokesperson did not directly dispute any of our assertions. The Romney campaign has not explained why, for instance, Tagg Romney told us that his Solamere Advisors partners were “cleared” of wrongdoing in connection to the Stanford Financial Group Ponzi scheme. We stand by our reporting.
Read our story here, and check out this infographic which explains the story:

3. Dear Major Media: Please notice two (2) things
(A) This is a non-denial denial. There is no naming of a factual error in the ThinkProgress report; and

(2) This statement doesn't come from Mitt Romney himself, but from a spokesman.

I would ask you to keep these two things in mind as you ponder your coverage or non-coverage of this issue, and compare and contrast it with your actual coverage of other political scandals of the recent and not-so-recent past, e.g., the Obama birth certificate nontroversy or the Clinton/Lewinsky affair.

We just want you to be all fair and balanced and stuff.
