Credit Union Account...Opened....Told Suntrust....To Stick it.

We got a letter the other day that said we could expect to start fees for our "free checking" account and for the use of our debit card.

I have been with Suntrust for 8 years.

Walked in to close the account and they had a reception desk making it obvious that they were back-tracking on their recent fee hike.

I went up to the desk and said that I would like to close my account because of the new fees. The Suntrust lady said, "Oh, good for you! We caught you just in time. We decided to not have those fees after all."

Me (LOUDLY),"Too Late. How do I know you wont bring them back the second the customer uproar dies down?...I'm moving all my money to a Credit Union. Please help me close my account."

Then, on to local CU and set up account. easy and it feels better knowing that it isn't a commercial bank.

I encourage YOU (yes, "you") to do the same.

PS. BTW, the lady who helped us open our CU account said they have been "swamped" with people opening new accouts!

in a round about way they had been swamped with transfers!

7. Credit Unions are the best financial organizations around.

Non-profit means they exist strictly to service their members. It's a family, of sorts.
Who would you rather deal with......some one who treats you like family, OR loan sharks?

It's a no-brainer.

We've belonged for over 30 yrs. I've had a few bank accounts over the yrs, but CU has been wonderful.
