1. To Anderson Cooper: Attorney for Cain accuser: Cain is lying (video at link)
A woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment believes the presidential hopeful is lying about the claims, her attorney said Tuesday night.

"She's been very upset about this since the story broke last Sunday, because Mr. Cain has been giving the impression she came out and made false allegations," lawyer Joel Bennett said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."

He also maintained that the case was resolved in a sexual harassment settlement, not a termination agreement, as Cain has described in the last two days when talking about one of the cases.

The woman is one of two who were reported filing sexual harassment charges against Cain when he led the National Restaurant Association in the late 1990s, according to a story first broken by POLITICO on Sunday.

13. It goes to her credibility. She will be better off if she plays it by the book.

12. I'd say that if she was talking about Obama too or anyone else for that matter.

14. You wouldn't know 'objective' if it bit you in the ass.
Cain lying about the terms of the settlement just may be in violation of the confidentiality agreement, if you don't know, these agreements cut both ways.

If you sign one, you cannot start lying about the other party with impunity without expecting pushback from the other side.

Cain is fucked, and so are all your other pals.

15. Well that would be relevant also if Cain triggers a break in the agreement.
Presidents need to live up to this sort of thing. Facts are good.

17. Nice to see you conflating President Obama with Cain's sexual harrasment problems.
Amazing.

You actually think that works here?

18. What? I'm just saying it doesn't matter if it's a Dem or a Repub. Geez Louise.
I don't even know what you think I was inferring about Obama. This is ludicrous.

20. Confidentiality is usually imposed only on the person who receives the settlement
The one who pays the settlement has his/her own motives not to disclose, and is not usually bound by a confidentiality agreement.

Can't say in this case, however, without seeing the settlement agreement.

16. Anderson reported that her lawyer was asking the Restaurant Association to waive
the agreement that she not talk. I think it would be unfair for Cain to lie about what happened and have her be unable to respond.
