1. when we were broke my husband would do all kinds of things to make money.
he would junk cars. he would do odd jobs. It's amazing how creative you can get when you have to pay rent and feed kids.

2. Since people aren't buying new homes or trading up, there is construction work in remodeling
I don't think that this activity is all captured in economic statistics on income or unemployment because a fair amount is cash business off the books.
