South Park to take the side of the 1%
South Park is apparently doing a episode aimed at the occupy wall street protests, the story will involved everybody
picking on the 1%, Eric Cartman.

Heres hoping its not going to be as bad as it sounds, the episode airs Wednesday.

1. What other side would the public voice of libertarian douchebaggery take?

2. That's Trey Parker being "punk rock"
fuck you, you're just being predictable. At least Matt Stone doesn't seem as much of an asshole.

3. They are probably going to make Cartman out to be a complete douchebag...
...like they often do.

It will be irreverent but I doubt it will actually be cruel or insensitive.

We'll just have to wait to find out. :)

4. Saw a preview...
Cartman was in his bedroom, whining to his dolls, having them talk back to him tea-party style about how unfair everyone else was being (the panda-doll being more Tea Party, saying it was all obviously President Obama's fault). Pretty much doing the 1%er "why are they all mad at me, I'm so awesome! They're just jealous losers!" crap.

I didn't get the impression it was taking the side of the 1%, but that was just one clip, and who knows where they'll end up.

5. while occasionally funny, Matt and Tre are massive assholes
Edited on Wed Nov-02-11 06:05 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
This pretty much sums them up:
---
"It was just lame, that's exactly what we're talking about--people trying to claim the show," said Matt, who in 2005 announced "I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals." When I asked him about the quote, Trey responded, "It's all based on saying the shocking thing. We used to have a great time going to Hollywood parties and saying 'I think George Bush is doing a great job.' We'd clear out the room. I used to love it."

7. It will probably be hilarious
I'm amazed at how few people catch the satire in South Park. It sounds like this episode will be laying it on pretty thick, so I would hope everyone can see it.

Cartman has always hated hippies. That's his character. He has episodes where he tries to round up all the hippies and kill them.

My guess is that they are going to make fun of the burnouts that go to the OWS protests, and not the people that know what they are talking about. The protesters will be portrayed as huge potheads who don't know a thing about what they are protesting.

Any Cartman centered episode is sure to be hilarious.

They are proud assholes and make no effort to hide it. I expected they'd do this.
