..."Of the People, by the People, for the People."

I have created a petition on the White House site asking for this action. Here's the link to all the White House petitions...

1. I'm sorry, I don't think that's accurate any longer...
"Of the Corporations, by the Corporations, for the Corporations"

Kinda has a ring to it.

5. May I suggest "E pluribus unum"...
Which has been on the Seal of the United States since 1782, and was the de facto motto until 1956, in that stick-it-to-the-commies era which also saw the addition of "under God" to the previously-Godless Pledge of Allegiance. It was also the era of sticking it to certain other people, with Georgia changing its state flag to incorporate the Confederate Battle Flag.

... it's a strong a statement as my suggestion, and a whole lot of People don't speak Latin.

34. Out of Many, One - expresses our county beautifully
From many continents, ethnicities, religions we come together to form a nation. That thing which makes our country so complicated is also our greatest strength and pride.

13. My favorite too. The "God" thing is a pretty naked appeal to authoritarianism.

Because, of course, Republicans and the rich speak for "god."

28. Really, I think this is the issue in a nutshell.
This isn't the social/political/economic system that God has wrought upon us. It's the one we made.

If it's not working, we can fix it. There's no reason to trust God, fate, destiny or providence in this matter except in the sense that whatever forces created us gave us the wits to solve our own problems.

23. It has the virtue of meaning nothing.
And when the shit hits the fan it's the perfect excuse:

"I was trusting in God, so blow me!"

It's an effortless motto. No good deeds, no early rising, no rush to stitching... just easy livin'.

35. How about this petition ...?
Actually take these petitions seriously instead of just using them as an excuse to pretend you are listening

Although the ability to submit petitions directly to the White House is a noble and welcome new feature of the current administration, the first round of responses makes blatantly clear the White House intends to just support its current stances and explain them with responses everyone who has done any research already knows.

An online petition is not meant as a replacement for using a search box in a web browser. (and so on)
