'KKK prank' trooper arrested on DUI, weapons charges

(UPDATED 3:30 p.m. with 911 call and report) A trooper who participated in a KKK prank in 2008 now faces drunken driving and weapons charges after crashing his truck this weekend.

Eric E. Wlodarsky, a trooper with the Milan post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, first made headlines three years ago for taking a picture of a fellow trooper dressed in Ku Klux Klan-like garb while on duty the day before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In a turn of events early Sunday morning Wlodarksy crashed his truck into a tree on Ohio 13, less than a mile south of Ohio 2.

Wlodarsky initially told deputies that his companion was the driver, Sigsworth said. The woman — as yet unidentified — denied being the driver, however, and Wlodarsky eventually confessed to deputies that he was indeed the driver.
