Do Not Play the Race Card Unless You Are a Black Conservative

At least one more item can be added to the ever growing list of Republican hypocrisy. That item is the idea that one should not discuss their race (play the race card) when explaining why something may have happened. For years Republican told those on the left not to play the race card when discussing an issue. Whenever someone on the left attempted to bring up race when discussing an issue republicans would claim that person was making excuses and also playing the victim. Now with the Herman Cain sexual harassment case republicans have taken a different approach.

Mr. Cain and many fellow republicans have brought up Cain's race as a way to combat the sexual harassment allegations. It seems Ann Coulter was the first to do this when she said "It is sad how liberals treat a black conservative". Later a republican group supporting Cain put out a letter that stated republicans should not allow the Democrats to carry out the "lynching" another black conservative and that the sexual harassment allegations were just another attempt at a "high-tech lynching". This was in reference to Clarence Thomas who also had sexual harassment allegations surface once he was nominated for the Supreme Court. Finally, Cain himself has stated he believes race is behind the reports about sexual harassment, but he has no facts to prove that idea.

So, yet again hypocrisy has been discovered in the Republican Party. Even though playing the race card could have been added to the list a few years ago, it can now officially be added to the Republican hypocrisy list.
