What papers/mags do you read to keep up on politics. I read vanity fair, sometimes the economist,
and sometimes Harpers'. For newspapers I read the Ottawa Citizen and the New York Times (love Krugman).

4. I learned long ago, to read as much as you can from a variety of sources and then use your
internal compass to make your decisions. IF you have no internal compass, you must be GOP material!

10. I agree. I tend not to read columnists except for Krugman. I like to get the facts from
a variety of sources and let my ideas just bubble up from that. On the DU I'll read columnists pieces. I figure if they make it to the DU they are well worth reading and they are.

:sarcasm:

Truth to be told, I don't read print magazines or papers anymore. Haven't for probably close to 10 years.

8. The Guardian newspaper. Mother Jones. Atlantic. New Yorker.
I think the majority of political stuff I pick up on is online, though. Especially here. :hi:

9. I subscribe to Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone, along w/cooking mags...
Redbook, BHG, and Family Circle (I'm a relic) ;). I only get the local paper in rt, but read NYT, WP, Guardian UK online (surprising how the UK covers American politics and news better than American outlets), as well as *gasp* perusing Huffington's rag from time to time.

However, I do NOT do anything Faux news related even if on a site like Arianna's.

Harpers is a great mag too - I read it occasionally when linked to an article. Wish I had more money to spend on hard copy reading materials.

Love Matt Taibbi from RS.... RS has become - for me - a must read for anything politics related.

14. The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Economist, Harper's and (don't flame)
Edited on Wed Nov-02-11 06:43 PM by BlueIris
The Nation. Every once in a while, there's an article in there that I actually, um, er, can't find too much wrong with (I said don't flame me!)

I also like Yes! magazine, sometimes enjoy Mother Jones, and occasionally read The Wall Street Journal. I also read the highlights of our local rags a few times a week to keep up with stuff going on in our so called city.

i also get 'in these times'. i used to get 'the nation', 'harpers' and 'the progressive' but let them drop. i'm so far behind reading vf that the politics are outdated. i read a lot of other mag articles thru du. i may re-subscribe to harpers. i like that mag.
