Pelosi and Dems are just HORRIBLE and political messaging
This is chart that Pelosi posted to illustrate job growth since the Affordable Care Act.

This is what the chart would look like if you wanted to impress upon people how strong the growth has been since then.

1. Is the second one an accumulated chart?
I think the first is more realistic.

4. The second chart gives the impression that the number relates to the month
it's deceptive.

9. That's why we are bad at messaging.
The Reps don't care if we criticize their message, as long as we talk about it.

As Jon Stewart effectively illustrated... Dems spent time this last week complaining about whether or not the repeal bill was called "Job Killing" and applauded when Boehner refered to it as "Job Crushing".

Republican Messaging - 1
Worrying about Critics - 0

7. It's not deceptive if it's properly titled.

12. That would be a clarification, which
means that the chart and title in the OP isn't a real representation of the month to month.

14. "Cumulative Total Private Sector Jobs Added... "
Pretty easy clarification.

10. Oh, good grief.
Do you want to return to the time when all of the graphs pointed downward below the axis.

11. Huh? He just wanted to see better communication...
... and pointed out how terrible messaging harmed the Dems politically in the build up to the last election.

Pretty fair point, and has nothing to do with going back to Bush policies, as far as I can tell.

15. Why don't the Democrats show these facts more often?
I suspect the media will not accommodate them.

16. Both charts are bullshit in the messaging department, despite being perfectly factual
People vote on values, not on bullshit charts. The values problem with health care reform is that its principle underlying value is moraaly vile--namely that people should have only as much health care as they have money. A real values campaign would make universal health care a human right, based on the value that we all deserve good health care. A reform that leaves 25+ million uncovered, and that segments the population according to its monetary worth--platinum, gold, silver and bronze--cannot be sold on the basis of any humane value.
