KATU news anchor says Scott Olsen was injured in "scuffle with police" |
|
How can that be an appropriate characterization?

One of half a dozen anchors for the 3rd-rated news channel in the 20-somethingth largest TV market in the country isn't exactly a top 1% kind of job. I'm guessing somewhere between 50-100k/yr
But they might work for one.

10. In terms of who they associate with in society and how much influence they have they are 1% |
|
Perhaps not in dollars, but even a lower tier anchor has huge name recognition in their area, it opens lots of doors for them that the average person doesn't even get to see.

I think that these days it's a very different world. Far fewer people even watch local TV news.
I couldn't tell you who any of the local anchors are.

9. I don't think so, at least not most of them, but the people signing their paychecks are. |

11. They may not technically be in the 1% as far as income but anchors carry a lot of weight.. |
|
Name recognition and a position that gives them a lot of social leverage, anchors hang with the 1% if they are not in it.

It shows what a bubble the local TV news people live in.
One of my best friends worked at KPTV for 20+ years. He says they are clueless.

Are there any actual investigative reporters anymore?
