Meta level...we are at a cross roads now.
Things are moving very fast. They are out of control even, in the way the system likes to control.

No, we are not at a revolution yet, but I will predict major events BEFORE the elections. This is the point when FDR realized he needed to save capitalism from itself. We are there.

There's more, this is global. But the intramural games in the primary really are not going to matter fr too much longer.

But to be brutal, either pols get behind the parade or the fall will move to the spring and the summer. And this will be a long winter.

10. Some are still playing that game
Some of us do citizen media. But who is pushing the Kardashians / Cain stories? For that matter today the wsj pushed the strike fizzled storyline.

3. No FDR this time
And pics of that huge banner at Oakland today that said "Death to capitalism" is making the rounds of Twitter, to much applause and agreement.

They're building up propaganda for military action on Iran. If they go ahead with that, I predict that it will become a full on revolution.

6. Well that is one of those events.
Personally I don't think they will. Yes, they need to distract the masses but even obvious plants ain't going well.

"What if they gave a war and nobody came?"

12. Oh, if I pity them if they start a war with Iraq
People will come out of the woodwork. You will see protests around the country like you haven't seen before. They will not be able to stop it.

5. The politicians have no choice but to get behind this
the longer they wait the more people will consider them to be worthless. If they don't they are toast. I really don't believe this will stop. It could very well be a long winter, but worth it. Thank you for all your updates.

17. OWS was a new challenge; But Occupy Oakland has changed back to the old tactics
Mass marches, strikes, demonstrations and vandalism are all things that have been dealt with by TPTB before.

The Occupy encampments were the new tactic that they were uncertain how to deal with.

19. General strike? What fraction of the Bay Area's workers were out on strike?
Population is 7.15 million. There must be upwards of 2 million workers total.
