War Crimes In Libya - The Smoking Guns

War Crimes in Libya - The Smoking Guns

By Michael Collins

The UN said in its resolution said that they wanted to protect civilians. I am a civilian. I'm asking the United Nations and the National Transition Council for help for the citizens of Sirte. Ali Salah Arzaga, Sirte, Libya. (His home and business were destroyed in the final assault on his city.)

There are very public smoking guns that inculpate the rulers of the United States, the United Kingdom, France and others in war crimes in Libya.
Qatar had supervised the rebels ' plans because they are civilians and did not have enough military experience. We acted as the link between the rebels and NATO forces ,' he said.
Libya's interim leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil told the meeting that Qatar had been "a major partner in all the battles we fought." Al Arabiya News, October 26

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Cretz provides the proof of NATO knowledge of the major violations of the UN resolution. From the article:
Qatar has played 'a very influential role in helping this rebellion succeed,' U.S Ambassador to Libya Gene A. Cretz said in an interview. Wall Street Journal, October 17

NATO went well beyond the bounds of the UN mandate. It allowed the mission's one nation that was not a part of NATO, Qatar, to violate the arms embargo, to provide troops, and to use those troops to coordinate NATO air strikes with NTC rebels on the ground. As a result, NATO and the NTC rebels were acting as one, fighting an aggressive war against the Libyan government. It was a series of lies that provided the foundation for the Libyan effort, lies that repeated principals that those directly involved were never expected to follow.
By waging war instead of protecting civilians, all parties to the effort engaged in an elaborate ongoing war crime against the very civilians that they were supposed to protect.

12. Thanks, much appreciated
The Qatar link is the deadliest of the smoking guns. Amazing that they spoke out as they did. But then, look at that pic - the NATO boss celebrating with the Libyan rebel government leader. Some "no-fly" zone.

Prosecutor to probe all sides in Libya
2011-11-03 11:21

New York - The prosecutor of the international war crimes tribunal said on Wednesday that his office will "impartially and independently" examine allegations of crimes committed by Nato and opposition forces, as well as by pro-Gaddafi troops, during this year's fighting in Libya.

13. Both sides by my commentary is aimed at what was done in our name
as citizens of the United States.

There is a great article to be written about al Jazeerah's role in this. The news service is head quartered in Doha, Qatar and owned by the nation of Qater, which also provided guns, troops, and money to the rebels. I'd say that tosses out what seemed to be great coverage of Arab Spring by that news service. I hope someone takes this on. It would be fascinating.

11. Libyan troops also looted and pillaged Bani Walid
I guess this civil war will never end.

In Bani Walid, Kadhafi loyalists thirst for revenge

BANI WALID, Libya — Members of Libya's powerful Warfalla tribe say they are thirsting for revenge after their bastion Bani Walid was looted and pillaged by anti-Kadhafi fighters.

"Tomorrow is another day. We will get our revenge sooner or later," said a Warfalla tribesman, pointing to shelled and burnt-out buildings in the oasis town, southeast of Tripoli.

...."When the thwar (revolutionary fighters) failed to find the Kadhafi brigades they had been expecting, they were furious. They shot at dogs, at houses, they looted and burned apartments and public buildings," said Suleiman.

"Now the whole town is angry. The thwar punished everyone, by destroying their homes, stealing their cars and killing their relatives," he added, in a voice full of hatred and sadness.

"Bani Walid is a tribal society. We don't have foreigners here. There is only the Warfalla tribe and no one can govern us... We will act sooner or later, here and even in Tripoli," he warned.

The Warfalla, Libya's largest tribe with one million members, in a country of six to seven million, are divided into dozens of clans spread across the nation, with other strongholds in the eastern Cyrenaica region.

19. The second city war crime
What did Bani Walid do to deserve destruction? Oh, they refused to be part of the NTC ruling clique. The NTC is not a government or a state. Therefore, any city or other population group in Libya that doesn't join, has that right. There is no government. If the non participating cities do nothing aggressive, like Sirte and Bani Walid, then there is no justification to attack them. When they are attacked and when NATO supports or enables those attacks, it is war crime.

In Bani Walid, Kadhafi loyalists thirst for revenge

By Imed Lamloum (AFP) – 5 days ago

BANI WALID, Libya — Members of Libya's powerful Warfalla tribe say they are thirsting for revenge after their bastion Bani Walid was looted and pillaged by anti-Kadhafi fighters.

"Tomorrow is another day. We will get our revenge sooner or later," said a Warfalla tribesman, pointing to shelled and burnt-out buildings in the oasis town, southeast of Tripoli.

Refusing to be filmed, and giving his name only as Suleiman, he said he fears the new regime's fighters, who defeated Moamer Kadhafi's beleaguered loyalists in Bani Walid two weeks ago after more than a month of fierce fighting.

"We stopped fighting when we ran out of ammunition. Then we secured a safe passage for the volunteers," he said, referring to loyalists who had come from other regions.
