4. Gee, I get unsolicited bank junk mail all the time. |
|
I just shred it. This video made me aware I could cost them a little. Maybe I can put a pile of unused wood shingles to good use. Cut off a section-the thin end, magic marker on it. "We are the 99%. Seal. Place in mail box.
The bank pesters me with their junk. Maybe I'll return in kind. No identifiers, just the message.

he suggested putting a wood shim in the envelope.
I just posted about this the other day. The USPS is well aware of things like this, and WILL discard any postpaid envelope that looks or feels heavier than a reasonable person would expect for business reply purposes.
So basically, if you're buying wood shims (however inexpensive) to stick in business reply envelopes, you are wasting your time and money.
Send the things back either empty, or with only a couple of pieces of paper in them.

8. I figured cramming it with other junk mail would do the trick. Spending |
|
money for shims would kinda defeat the purpose.

11. Ok, no wood shingles. How about just a bunch of paper. |
|
We are still the 99%. I'll figure out some way to do this. To the banks: Pester me, I'll pester you!

I guess it would depend on how much paper you put in the envelope.
Usually when these places send out stuff with a reply envelope, what you send back is only a page or two.
If you get too enthusiastic with the paper, the PO might be a bit suspicious, and in the trash it will go.
If they're really pestering you, then my best suggestion would be to just send the stuff back with a note telling them to please take you off their mailing list. Otherwise, they won't know NOT to pester you... ;)

7. What a brilliant idea! |
|
However, I have one suggestion to add. Don't dump your other catalogs and junk mail into the envelop, unless you remove the address labels from that other mail. I would hate for the banks to have an easy way to identify who is returning their prepaid envelops without ordering their credit cards!

14. A simple code on envelope or contents could give you away. |
|
I am up to 8 returned envelopes. No shims but have stacks of unused low quality paper. This is fun!

I send carpet cleaning coupons and air conditioner replacement offers.
Recently I began writing Occupy Wall Street on a blank piece of paper and stuffing that in.
