Why should we pay? For the debts? But they aren't ours, they belong to the politicians and investors. We don't need all the weapons that the French and Germans sell us . . . .

These are the words of a Greek union member explaining why, after paying all his taxes for years, he will refuse to pay the additional taxes imposed by the wealthy European countries until the current government resigns.

The working people of Greece are in a state of economic revolt. Who can blame them?

Is Greece our future? Are we already there or is there still time for Congress and Wall Street to wake up and take responsibility for the crisis that THEY, AND THEY ALONE CAUSED?

We Americans at the bottom of the economic pyramid paid all of our taxes including our payroll taxes. We did absolutely nothing to cause our economic crisis. Let the rich pay for the mess they caused.

far too much money on our militaries.

Further, most of us pay our taxes, but the wealthy avoid paying taxes -- by forming corporations and lobbying to get all kinds of tax relief, by offshoring profits (form a middleman corporation that buys cheap from China, sells high-cost in the US and keeps the profits in Panama or Switzerland or the Cayman Islands) or donating to charities that serve their personal self-interests and not the common good. A new gym for your church (where you can work out regularly)? No problem, and only church members can use it. A new school for the kids in your church? Great for the grandkids, and I'll save a lot in taxes. Why should I pay to educate the grandkids of other people? What a deal.

2. And the debt enslavement tacticsof the IMF and World Bank don't help either.

We are not yet like Greece, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and many third-world countries the IMF etc. have ravaged and cannibalized. We have a chance to KICK THEM OUT, just like Iceland.
