Our president listened to us!!!!
At the G20 protest several people spoke to the media about the need to tax financial transactions instead of taxing us working people more and today at the G20 our RIGHT WING president Sarkozy asks for TAXES ON FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS and has been trying to convince Obama to go along with the idea. http://www.lefigaro.fr/conjoncture/2011/11/03/04016-20111103ARTFIG00440-referendum-en-grece-le-premier-ministre-isole.php

THANK YOU PRESIDENT SARKOZY, you know you have to listen to us if you want any chance at all of winning next year, you can try but i think we will still vote Socialist.

3. Actually, didn't Obama push for this after the collapse? Either way,
he's got the wind at his back, now ... let's see if he has the guts to hoist the jib.

6. kill it or tax it
but Sarkozy is calling for a tax on the transactions.... i am surprised in a good way. once again the right in france is farther to the left than the left in the usa, (i have lived in the usa for 24 years and france for the past 8)

8. You French are lucky.
I would not trust Sarkozy, however.

Think what it is like for us here, stuck with Obama and no relief in sight. Uggh.

True, Obama cannot enact a tax. That is Congress' job. But he could advocate for the tax.

Obama, however, is too short-sighted and too cowardly to do it.

9. as sarkozy cannot enact a tax, that is the legislature
but he sure can advocate for it. and the party he is in is very disciplined and would vote for what he asks for as they nearly always do.
