Iran claims to have proof of US-led terror plots
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 05:12 PM by Jon Ace
Source: globalpost

Written proof of US terror plots will be released on Friday, November 4th, reported Iran's state-owned news channel Press TV.

The head of the Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, will detail the allegations during a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the 1979 US embassy hostage crisis in Tehran.

If this has any legitimacy whatsoever, expect it to get buried or ignored completely by the mainstream media.

2. Main place I get anything anymore is RT and AJZ. My IQ drops 30 points when
I look at MSM.

Today I wanted to see footage of Oakland OWS last night. RT had the best coverage of any. I feel like I'm in the cold war era looking for news coverage from other countries.

8. Me too
I was wondering the same thing. The Russian news source?!? As much bullshit as I think our news is filled with I can't help but think Russian or Al-jazera (sp?) (saw this listed a few times on various posts) is full of more BS and rhetoric.

13. RT and Al-Jazeera are both filled with truth
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 05:48 PM by Cali_Democrat
The truth is just so shocking and unrecognizable to the average American that they just reject it.

16. I told someone about RT the other day and they said, that's all communist
stuff, you can't watch that. Soooooo, that sums up average Americans rather well, can't see the truth for the MSM propaganda they cling too. We are really F'ed in this country.

20. Can't blame that reaction
Getting news from a region that has open hostility to the US and certainly an agenda is going to generate serious doubt. While I in no way claim that our news does not carry an agenda and much is not reported and designed to guide our views, the same can be said about a foreign source, particularly a middle eastern source.

From the Wiki link you posted RT America "It focuses on covering the Americas from an international and Russian perspective" I understand the international perspective but question the reliability from that region. AJZ carries even more doubt.

10. Russian Today. They have reporters/centers in the US and their news
coverage is excellent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RT_%28TV_network%29
If you have Roku http://www.roku.com/ it comes in on your TV like a regular channel.

14. I wondered. But found it somewhat hard to believe.
I know Max Keiser is on their shows. So that's testament to their values.

3. The fact that the source is Iran's Press TV is a sign that it has no legitimacy whatever.
In this instance "terror plot" means "efforts to undermine the illegal Iranian nuclear programme", no doubt (which Israel appears to be on the brink of going to war over, if the recent news there is to be believed; that is, if the US and UK don't do it first).

18. Point
That's pretty much the same thing I thought when I read the OP. Our media does leave somewhat to be desired, but it's head and shoulders above what you get from the official news organs of totalitarian regimes.

9. They may well be right. BushCo and their buddies OPEC got Iraq, now Iran remains as
the sole non-OPEC top-five oil deposit in the world.

Neocons wanted it but the outcry against the Iraq invasion slowed them down.

12. Do you even know what you're talking about?
http://www.opec.org/opec_web/en/about_us/25.htm

Both Iran and Iraq were founding members of Opec.

17. Thanks, I'm evidently using the wrong name for the group grabbing up all the oil.
Iran isn't one of them, and neither was Iraq. Now Iraq is. They want Iran's resources.

19. Drones that shoot hellfire missiles aren't terrifying enough to the whole populace?
THAT is terrorism folks. State-sponsored terrorism.

What else could it be called?

Oh yeah, Americans call it a "deterrent".
