Tax Cuts are Largest Contributor to Budget Deficit - Chart
I love this chart - found it on the "Political Loudmouth" Facebook Page. George W's tax cuts and especially the capital gains cuts were so large that I believe this is true, but I'd like to find more info. on it. Does anyone have any idea where it originated? In the notes it says "thanks to Jon Epstein for this image", but I wondered if anyone else had seen it somewhere along with commentary. It's a pretty powerful chart so I'd like to distribute it with back-up if possible.

1. But they aren't nearly as hated by the neoliberals as entitlements...

And when we have an administration in which most of the advisors are to the right of Mitt Romney...well, let's just say Good Bye Great Society.
We turn our hope for a better future to the MegaMillions Lottery.

5. It's a great chart -
someone must have sat down with budget data to illustrate exactly what a drag those tax cuts have been on the economy - even more so than defense! This is why the billionaires have taken over so thoroughly. If I were Obama, and were lucky enough to be re-elected, I would focus on two things - let those tax cuts expire & then use some of the revenue to start a WPA style jobs program (fix our infrastructure).

9. You're welcome -
I posted it on Facebook and have totally stopped any conversation. I can see why. If I were a republican I would be very embarrassed reading this. Look what they are doing to our country with their crazy tax cuts for millionaires/billionaires.

16. Nope, that's what I was hoping to get by posting it here ...
I got it from "Political Loudmouth". They posted it on FB so I got the image there. This is their website: http://politicalloudmouth.com/

I was hoping someone might have seen it somewhere else and had better info on it. I'm guessing some random person took the numbers off the Congressional Budget Office's website and created it that way ... it appears similar to other charts on that website.

13. Excellent!
That looks like the same breakdown - with that big amount for the Bush Era tax cuts. I really thought it was mostly military spending driving that deficit. It's pretty eye-opening to see that the bigger culprit is those tax cuts. No wonder the rich repubs liked moronic W so much.

14. Doubtful -

this is what happens when the top 1% of the country runs everything. We're going to have to change the system drastically (or completely) to get rid of this. "Fierce advocates"=fairy tales.
