You Can't Carry Signs Or Cameras In WI Capitol - But Now You Can Carry A Gun
So Wisconsin legislators really think this is a good idea, huh? Considering how many angry people there are these days, I have to wonder if all that Koch and ALEC money is destroying what's left of their brain cells, since it seems to override the normal self-protection instinct:

Madison -- Assembly Republicans voted Thursday morning to allow concealed guns on the body's floor and in its public viewing galleries.

The policy passed 5-3 on a party line vote.
The committee of lawmakers did vote unanimously to amend the policy to prohibit the open carrying of weapons such as rifles.

The move comes after Gov. Scott Walker's administration last week decided to open up the Capitol and most other state buildings to concealed guns by valid permit holders. On Tuesday, Wisconsin became the 49th state in the country to allow concealed guns and other weapons to qualifying people who fulfill a training requirement and receive a permit.

In the Assembly, individual lawmakers will still be able to post their own offices and prohibit weapons there.

The policy has drawn criticism from Democrats who point out that
people are not allowed to use cameras in the viewing galleries or hold signs but will be able to carry guns. Republicans voted down a Democratic motion to allow signs but Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon) said he might reconsider that question at a later date.

3. You can still carry a camera in the WI capital.
And it's illegal to use a gun there, just as with cameras.

Why shouldn't the People be allowed to bear arms in our House?

5. So if someone came in and started shooting up the legislature..
It would be illegal for anyone carrying in there to return fire?

6. Yes, it would.
One could use self-defense as an affirmative defense, but discharging a firearm in the Capital building would still be illegal.

4. They'll regret this when their constituents start shooting.
By being ignorant, they're proving Darwinism.

Stay out of the state capitol sisters and brothers. Once the shooting is done, take it back.

7. So maybe there is a market for cameras disguised as guns.
Might get a little dicey when you draw the thing to shoot a picture, though.

8. You don't need to disguise your camera.
You just aren't allowed to use it.

10. I once read a story after Jimmy Carter was elected POTUS
He returned home to Georgia to greet his well-wishers. He was speaking in Plains before a large, cheering crowd, when one of his old pals, who couldn't get close enough to see him...pulled out his rifle with attached scope to use as a telescope!

The Secret Service went absolutely nuts!

11. Same standard, I guess

You can have them, but you can't use them and they have to be concealed.

I think the camera ban is stupid. Okay, a no-flash policy is reasonable, but not a no-camera policy.
