Farewell Mr. Mick, Longtime Office Cat of The Nation Magazine
The staff at the New York City office of the political journal The Nation magazine (“the flagship of the left”) are mourning the loss of their longtime companion Mr. Mick, a 17-year-old white-and-orange cat that died there on Tuesday.

Mr. Mick lived a long, eventful life, with many years spent at The Nation office, where he had lived for much of the past decade. He could often be seen napping in various inner offices, including Victor Navasky’s, which had a particularly comfortable and warm spot by the radiator. When Mick wasn’t sleeping, he was making the rounds, usually looking for a better place to sleep but sometimes slipping into editorial board meetings and zigzagging between the legs of editors, writers and esteemed guests. It wasn’t uncommon for Mr. Mick to be the first thing people saw in the waiting room when they arrived at the office. He seemed to be sizing them up.

“I’d like to think we gave him a good intellectual environment, if not a terribly social one,” says one editor.

1. RIP Mr. Mick, you had a good home!
I'd hate to be the resident cat at, say, Focus on the Family headquarters...

:scared:

3. Awww....I love cats that live at businesses.
Nothing endears me more to a business than a resident cat. They seem to be universally friendly and welcoming. My favorite bookstore had one. When it wasn't sitting in a basket next to the cash register, it was rubbing up against your legs while you browsed the shelves, and never took umbrage at some affection offered it.

7. I just saw your
'GROPE.' lol. No hope, just grope.

I wish these women would step up, but after what Anita Hill went through....

But aren't there about 6 of them now????

I heard on CBS Evening News tonight that Cain has made 4 times his usual campaign contributions this week. Wow...those repugnants really like dudes who harass women. What a fucking country.

I can't wait until Cain steps foot in Ohio...I'm there and I'm loud.
