2. For all his ideological blinders, Barry was not necessarily a bad human being.
Just wrong about most things. He was the most upright Republican they could find when it came time to tell Nixon he had to go.

17. If god is telling them how to vote they can exercise that right.
But don't look to me to say that he does it, or how they receive it. He don't speak to me, and I don't speak to him. I don't go with him. I'm not under him. I have no trust in him. And so far he is not so helpful to me. He's good to yell during sex, but I think that's Einstein's god. --imm

8. It's amazing that Barry Goldwater would be deemed 'too liberal' by the current Republican nuts.
He and St. Ronnie would be tarred and feathered by these freaks today.

13. Yes, he was pro-choice and disagreed with policies like DADT. "You don't
have to BE straight to serve in the Armed Forces, you just have to SHOOT straight."

12. Goldwater was more of a libertarian than a Republican.
He was always a big bundle of contradictions. A very interesting character, and it's a damn good thing he was never elected to the Presidency.

15. A Man's Last Day on Earth
It sucks to die like this guy . It is just not the right way go. How many people thought about that their last day in life will be spent on a lawn mower and than subsequently, falling into a pool. The message is we never know what our last day is or when it comes. Heck, we could be caught on a lawnmower and than we die a fateful death. I guess luck had failed this man and he had last day on earth.
