Microsoft is a “gold sponsor” of the Americans For Prosperity

MICROSOFT FUNDS KOCH’S CLIMATE-DENYING TEA PARTY CONFERENCE | Microsoft Corporation, which argues that climate pollution requires a “comprehensive and global response,” is sponsoring the Koch brothers’ Tea Party convention taking place in Washington, DC. Microsoft is a “gold sponsor” of the Americans For Prosperity Foundation’s fifth annual Defending The American Dream Summit, cheek and jowl with top climate denial front groups like the Heartland Institute, the American Legislative Exchange Council, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Speakers at the conference include climate deniers Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS), Ken Cuccinelli, Ann McElhinney, Chris Horner, Myron Ebell, and Carly Fiorina. Their prominent involvement was captured in a photograph by Slate.com reporter Dave Wiegel.

10. Occupy DC Protesters March On Koch-Affiliated Event At Convention Center (PHOTOS)

WASHINGTON -- Protesters marched on the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Friday evening where Americans for Prosperity, a conservative organization funded in part by the Koch brothers, was assembled for its Defending The American Dream Summit and Ronald Reagan tribute dinner.
During the dinner, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said "I am proud to know the Koch brothers," according to The New York Times.
Across the street from the convention center, counterprotesters had organized Occupy The Koch Brothers, featuring a Guerilla Drive-In event featuring videos "fun videos that expose the Koch Brothers in colossal fashion," according to the event's website.
Several streets and intersections around Mount Vernon Square were closed during the duration of the protest near the convention center.

4. However much of a philanthropist he may or may not be,
I don't like his conclusions on schooling, don't necessarily think his donations are altruistic, and don't care how nice he is. I'm sure the Kock brothers are "nice" too, but the ugly goes straight to the bone.

12. It's very difficult if not impossible for 1%'ers to go against their best interests.
They have class-sociopathy.

13. Corporations don't fund organizations because they support their views.
They spread money around anywhere they think they might profit from in the future.
It's pure a-moral investing.

There are exceptions where a CEO has strong beliefs and directs his corporation's investments towards those ends but that is a fairly rare situation.
