'Jesus would join US, UK protests'
The legal action by St. Paul's Cathedral to evict 'Occupy London Stock Exchange' (LSX) protesters camped outside the church has left the Church's leadership accused of not practicing what Jesus Christ has preached.

Gould: Yes, well certainly among the friends I have and colleagues who are Tories, conservative; they feel that this is absolutely outrageous and that they do make donations and how could this have even been allowed to happen in the first place. And that's where I start moving towards supporting the protesters, cause I say to them, excuse me, when you go to church don't you realize that as you said Jesus would have been out there in one of the tents.

It's most likely he would have; because he would have supported the ending of the money lending and the... his famous saying we must stop this den of thieves, we must make this temple stop being a den of thieves.

And I think that if people think that there are dark forces, well it's a possibility but Richard Charter did come out and talk to the encampment. The church seems to pull back, allowing the protesters to stay to the New Year. I don't think this is about not being coherent in America. The protesters closed the port of Oakland over these past few days and more and more protests are becoming quite focused in the US. So as the days progress there is a lot more physical action.

They're only at the church because they were daft enough to crow at least a week in advance their intention to occupy a private square. Not satified with that they did same with regard to Canary Wharf the owners of which have already taken out an injunction to prevent that. In response they now said "well we didn't really want it anyway" aka sour grapes. Presumably there is not another church at hand there. :sarcasm:
