Occupy Mosier, population 460

MOSIER, Ore. -- It's one of the smallest towns in the Northwest. But it's now home to Oregon's newest Occupy movement.

The Occupy Mosier camp began Friday in the tiny town on the Columbia River between The Dalles and Hood River. And not surprisingly, there are some who like the addition to Mosier's First Avenue and there are those who don't.

Just beyond the sign that show's Mosier's modest population is another sign. It reads, "Mosier is already occupied by hard working people." That terse message is directed across the street at the people setting camp, christened as 'Occupy Mosier.'

"Maybe this is the spark here in Mosier, for Occupy The Gorge and the torch can get passed to other communities, such as Occupy Hood River," said Occupy Mosier organizer Corie Lahr.

I love that small towns are joining in.
