I have to give kudos to Jack Abramoff . |
|
He's a real crook but he sure pulled back the veil on how our elected officials work. The interview on 60 minutes was very interesting. Sorry, I don't know how to do the link thing but look it up, it was great.

3. I remember how angry he was that his fellow criminals, like Tom |
|
Delay and George Bush eg, pretended not to know him after he was arrested. He said then that they were liars. Maybe this is way of getting back at a system that used him, voluntarily of course on his part, and then throwing him away once he got caught. What did he expect considering who he was hanging around with?

8. DUers: This is well-worth the 14 minutes it takes to watch. +1 |

I have mixed feelings about Jack. He's still a scumbag. But he's broke and he's been caught and, unable to turn a buck doing anything else, he resorts to telling just a sliver of the truth of that goes on in Washington.

24. He is a scumbag who wants to fleece the public by writing a |
|
book that will sell like hotcakes, since he knows how to 'turn a buck'. Crooks know there are people who open themselves up to being taken. He deserves not one ounce of sympathy.

26. That's exactly what I told my husband tonight. After he writes that book, he'll tour |
|
and get paid millions to tell his story. It's sickening what this country has become. The ONLY reason he has seen the error of his ways is because his ass was caught! Otherwise, he'd still be swindling people.

and no ability to give him leniency. IMO he said a hell of a lot more than what I had ever thought I would hear him say. But I do know he is proof, and he spoke it that our government officials are bribed, and they do not work for us.

I didn't think my BP could handle it. Plus to see Leslie Stahl act all shocked when this has been going on for decades while she and the media just look the other way.
:puke:
Maybe later when I've cooled off, I'll watch it.

20. Abramoff's game has been going on since politics has been |
|
around. He says he was "blinded" by how easy it is to bribe, as though he was influenced somehow by a quirk in his brain or some kind of an outside influence. He knew what he was doing since it has been done throughout history. Now he is thinking about writing a book, of course, to continue fleecing the public. This guy should not be in the public arena. You can be sure he will continue to be embraced by his greedy compatriots. The SOB should have been held inncomunicado a lot longer to reflect on his crimes.

22. Lesley Stahl gave a very weird interview |
|
She kind of seemed like she was flirting with Abramoff. It was almost uncomfortable to watch. She actually pouted cutely at one point and very coyly says "I'm mad at you". I've never seen her before, does she always act so flirty?
