I'm sure most of you have seen this before, but...
The following is printed on the wall at my son's high school:

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.
~Cree Indian Proverb

I just thought it was appropriate for our times.

7. If there were any...
I think Easter Island is an excellent example of where we're headed if we don't change our ways and fast (assuming, of course, that it's not already too late).

10. I see this sort of trifecta of shit brewing & wonder about the Mayan calendar thing.
Admittedly, I know very little about it except that the world supposedly isn't going to end like we were once told. But how interesting that their calendar comes to an end, when our species is at this point. Aren't we about to enter the age of Aquarius, too? Or did that already happen?

Will the human race be able to prevail against itself? We got a whole lotta stupid on our side. The odds don't look good.

6. That sums up the motto of my life.
I'll spare the story. But that is exactly how I've lived. And I have gotten nothing but criticism for it. As if I'm lazy. No, I enjoy beauty more than money.
