Dems Poised to Win Big in Ohio

Josh Marshall November 6, 2011, 10:38 PM 920

A new poll out tonight shows Ohio Democrats and public employees unions poised to deliver a crushing rebuke to Gov. John Kasich (R) at the polls on Tuesday. 59% say they plan to vote to repeal SB-5, Kasich’s signature anti-union legislation passed earlier this year.

1. And The National Media Completely Ignores This Story
It's highly significant, and it has national implications.

Over 300 stories, from all kinds of sources not in Ohio. It's not being ignored. It's getting national press coverage. It will get more after the election. Not every story warrants top of the news coverage nationwide, but stories like this one get covered.

2. It's weird that the number is only 59%
Driving across the state you don't see one yard sign for issue 2 yet they think 41% will vote for it. In Sandusky last weekend the only vote FOR issue 2 sign I saw was the huge electronic billboards in front of both the Best Western and Comfort Inn! Vote
yes on Issue 2&3...go figure.

It's Ohio so we must encourage every voter to come out and vote. No land slides here! First they discourage you to vote and then they throw out the votes they don't want.

6. northeast Ohio area (Akron/Cleveland drive)
the ratio seems to be 1 yes for every 10-20 NOs ...

but another disturbing one is the tie of the pro-Issue 2 & 3 signs, but nearly all anti-Issue 2 signs are "alone" ...

8. This will, naturally, be good news for Republicans
Because everything is good news for Republicans. If SB-5 is repealed, then it will be by a "razor-thin" margin, even if it's 60-40 or better. However, this being Ohio, I would urge my Buckeye State brethren and sistren to get out and vote. Take someone or a bunch of someones to the polls. The more votes, the more better for the forces of goodness and light.
