FBI: Bomb placed at MLK Day parade was ‘domestic terrorism’
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/01/bomb-mlk-parade-domestic-terrorism/

A bomb left in a backpack on the route of a Martin Luther King Day parade in Spokane, Washington, has been described as being in the "realm of domestic terrorism" by the FBI.

The bomb was found on bench Monday morning at the northeast corner of North Washington Street and West Main Avenue in the city's downtown core. Spokane police were alerted to its presence before the parade -- which was attended by some 1,000 people -- got underway.

"You could describe it as an improvised destructive device ... or improvised explosive device," FBI special agent Frank Harrill told NBC News.

“Clearly, the timing and placement of a device -- secreted in a backpack -- with the Martin Luther King parade is not coincidental," Harrill told the Spokesman-Review. "We are doing everything humanly possible to identify the individuals or individual who constructed and placed this device."

Harrill added: “I think the link to the Martin Luther King celebration and march is inescapable. ... At that point, it falls directly in the realm and sphere of domestic terrorism. Clearly, there was some political or social agenda here."

9. It can't possibly be domestic terrorism. It doesn't involve brown-skinned muslims.

12. That's the area the Aryan Nation operated in.
Obviously, they're not "as gone" as the people who live here like to think they are.

13. They're still around.
They only lost their compound in Hayden, Idaho, but they didn't go anywhere.

15. When did they lose it?
I lived in Idaho in 2008 and they were still going strong up in Coeur d'Alene.

16. The SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) won a verdict against the Aryan Nation ten
years ago. Here's a story on it.

Idaho Community Commemorates SPLC's Aryan Nations Victory

A community in northern Idaho is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Southern Poverty Law Center's courtroom victory over the Aryan Nations, a violent neo-Nazi group whose compound served as an organizing hub for leading white supremacists.

The verdict was commemorated on September 7 with the presentation of a black marble monument outside the Kootenai County Courthouse in Coeur d'Alene, honoring the SPLC, the jury and a philanthropist who played a role in the community's recovery.

The SPLC lawsuit, filed on behalf of a mother and son who were terrorized by Aryan Nations guards, led to a $6.3 million verdict that crippled the group, forcing it to give up the compound near Hayden Lake.

"It was like lifting a cloud from the area," said Tony Stewart, a founding member of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations, which organized the ceremony. "The SPLC and Morris Dees are great heroes to us." more at above link

I lived in the Sandpoint area more than ten years ago when the neo-Nazis were still allowed to march in the streets in Coeur d'Alene. However, not only are they still around but they have been spreading their poison nationwide since then. :-(
