4. This is why I get so impatient with the local "announcements" that we're all powerless.
The powerful always win, the current system is an expression of common human nature, the quotations and videos that show how corrupt the system is and imply it's incorrigible. I suppose folks think they're trying to wake the sleepers, but I see it mostly in the framework of the OP.

5. It's an external locus of control
I think that's where conspiracy theories come from. Came up with that idea during the Libyan revolution, when I figured that people must be assuming that it was all propaganda because they projected their feeling of helplessness on to the Libyans and could not believe that the Libyans would actually rise against Gaddafi.

I noticed that the same people who said it was all propaganda and that Libya was really like Iraq were the same people who said in other threads that the 1% is too powerful, that there's nothing we can do, that there's no hope.

6. Look at the amount of change and conversation about change #Occupy has created.
Now imagine double the numbers, ten times the number...

11. I think it's more about people who don't believe in hollywood movies.
The rebels would have been *nowhere* except for NATO. Helps to have powerful friends. With bombs.
