Murdoch's paper even spied on the lawyers who represent the family of murdered girl...whose phone
was hacked when she went missing. She was later found murdered. I wonder how many people were spied on by this newspaper?!

Rupert Murdoch's British newspaper company spied on two lawyers who represent alleged victims of phone hacking by its tabloid News of the World, the firm acknowledged Monday.

News International said lawyers Mark Lewis and Charlotte Harris "were subject to surveillance," a practice it called "inappropriate."

The BBC and The Guardian newspaper reported Monday that Lewis and Harris were followed and filmed last year by private investigator Derek Webb, who was hired by the now-defunct tabloid to gather evidence in a bid to discredit them.<snip>

Lewis represents the family of 13-year-old Milly Dowler, whose phone was hacked after she disappeared in 2002. She was later found murdered.<snip>

1. Isolated incidents. Rogue reporters. Nothing to see here.
And nothing of the sort happened stateside, so no need even to look into it here.

2. This is why the whole "US caught off-guard on 9/11" mindset is horseshit!
If Murdoch can infiltrate a murdered girl's family by tapping their phones and sicking private investigators on them, then the Bush Administration was monitoring messages from al Qaeda and the Saudis and knew what was going to happen...

3. I saw an article suggesting way more than 5,000 people were hacked
I think it was in the Guardian
