Well the obvious is void, gloves, hats...but here s a less obvious...lip balm. I got some today on sale. Next trip, taking it. Your occupiers, and their lips, will thank you.

1. Excellent. And, as always, water, toilet tissue, paper towels, hand sanitizer.... |
|
Water comes best in 2.5 gallon or larger refillable dispensers, bring cups.
Hand sanitizer is good because it saves on using water to wash hands.
Lip balm? Excellent!

3. Also, if your local Occupy has a website, they usually list their most pressing needs. |
|
San Franciscans not only need warm weather gear for about 40 degree weather (it rarely gets colder than that) but rain gear. A guy was passing out those cheap ponchos during the rain on Saturday. They were a welcome relief.
Lip balm is a great idea but keep in mind that balm that contains camphor or menthol actually can make chapped lips worse.

6. On Friday, I sent $300 to OWS-NYC |
|
It's my first political donation in almost twenty years.
My last donation was to Ross Perot in 1992.
After 9/11/2001, I sent $200 to the NY Firefighters fund, which, in retrospect, seems too small.
I can't even believe I'm donating to a left-wing cause but the Republicans are just out of their fucking minds at this point.

9. You know, I never actually considered OWS to be partisan... |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 08:59 PM by nc4bo
unless of course The American People can be considered a party.
Naturally various OWS topics of protest can run parallel to left but this feels much more than that.
I guess what's important to The People is considered left-wing?
Thanks for your contribution, I'm sure many will appreciate it!!
