Heard this morning on the Wall Street Journal Report on the
radio that the big banks couldn't be happier people are closing their accounts and going to credit unions. They say the people likely to switch are not profitable customers anyway.

1. Except that they really are.
Big banks have become so bloated & inefficient that they can't make a profit on "normal" depositors. The inconvenient little secret is: they can't make a profit on large depositors either.

2. Can you say "sour grapes"?
I'm sure we are all happy to let them keep only those customers willing to be gouged.

3. That's crap. If it were so, why do they keep angling for all deposits.
They could always make a minimum deposit requirement of six figures and get rid of all of the middle class without any bother. So, why take our deposits in the first place. They don't have to.

4. OK, well then I hope more "unprofitable" customers choose
to stop giving those banks all their unwanted business. Problem solved.

5. And since they won't be using all those glass-walled offices to greet

their unprofitable customers, maybe they could move to new offices more appropriate to their work. Say, out by the sewage plant, for instance.

Then we could rebuild the space they vacate into a temporary shelter for families after foreclosure.
