We should always consider the "Backfire Effect" when trying to understand conservatives
In the light of Herman Cain raising another $2 million since the sexual harassment allegations were uncovered I think it is time we all remind ourselves that their brains just don't work the same way ours do.

IMO this is one of the major reasons why they keep getting it wrong.

For very liberal subjects, the correction worked as expected, making them more likely to
disagree with the statement
that Iraq had WMD compared with controls. The correction
did not have a statistically significant effect on individuals who described themselves as
liberal, somewhat left of center, or centrist. But most importantly, the effect of the
correction for individuals who placed themselves to the right of center ideologically is
statistically significant and positive. In other words, the correction backfired –
conservatives who received a correction telling them that Iraq did not have WMD were
more likely to believe that Iraq had WMD than those in the control condition
.

2. should we....
....remain idle and keep our powder dry?....we need to bloody up hermie a bit, slap him around the ears, damage the goods....actually we don't have to, the MSM is doing it for us, simply because they can....and the fact that he ain't a white romney....(two black men running against each other for president?....another black president?....wall-streetishly unacceptable)

"...their brains just don't work the same way ours do."

....although you may be correct, the bagger-type conservatives will probably top-out at 20% (or whatever they are) and will be a mere stain on our election....it's jobs baby, jobs!

4. I'm just saying...
...that when we try to rap our heads around the insanity that is conservative politics we should keep in mind that this is simply how their brains work.

Once they believe something, providing proof that what they believe is wrong simply causes them to believe it all the more.

It doesn't make sense to me and I assume it doesn't make sense to you either. We should just plan on this being the reaction.
