Amazing how Rs could impeach a President for sexual impropriety
and dismiss more serious charges of harrassment by one of the field of their candidates for the same job. I'd like to hear the GOP be called on this blatantly hypocritical use of outrage when applied to the "family values" party.

3. Actually, it doesn't scare me much anymore...
I've gotten used to seeing it.

I *am* disgusted, though.

4. Lets remember the Speaker was Gingrich
Impeaching a President while he was having an affair on his dying wife with the Tiffany's diamond lady.

11. to be more exact, it was his second wife
his first wife he dumped while she was recuperating from cancer surgery-she wasn't dying.
His second wife he was cheating on during the Clinton impeachment.
The one he was seeing is now wife number 3.

Imagine, a twice-divorced three times married man is now a born again Catholic.

16. Oops. I thought he was only married twice.
I am so confused by Gingrich. What a mess that guy is.

5. And then there's Anthony Weiner
who didn't touch or solicit sexual 'favors' from anyone. Where is he, again? Sickening, the hypocrisy.

7. That's the way I recall it
If there is something more than fifteen year old "he said, she said", Cain is cooked, too. He might be anyway, it depends on what more comes out.

10. agreed. cain is a joke, and unfortunately because our wonderful corporate media is NOT saying much
on what romney has been saying as of late regarding privatizing social security and medicare, including "vouchers" for medicare

romney will be the repuke nominee, and right now because of this cain fiasco, romney is getting a free pass

12. He still did well despite it.
I don't see him going to the Food Bank.

Personally, I think it was all Street Theater.

15. In a civil case that had nothing to do with the case at hand.
The distinction is important. If this were a criminal case, then Clinton would have been guilty of lying. It wasn't, it was a civil case.
The question at hand was none of the court's business. This was a republican witch hunt for anything to bring Clinton down.
Being a civil case the charge would not stick for people like you or me. But being a witch hunt, it was good enough because the real case was trumped up from the get-go.
But what's established law when the republicans are in charge.

20. There was actual Constitutional issues being debated, which ironically, bushco did the same thing
and claimed executive privilege, and would only talk in a closed session, not under oath

The spineless democrats had an opportunity, but instead choose instead to give a lot of Congressional responsibility to the executive brach. Very dissappointing that period in time

9. And that's really not sarcasm.
Rightwingers do have a different set of values for their "leaders." It's part of the authoritarian mindset. they do believe RHIP and it extends to their morality as well. That's why the pukes will do NOTHING about Vitter or Ensign or Schwarzeneggar or McCain or Gingrich or Cain or even Palin in terms of a moral double standard. It's only hypocrisy by our standards; by theirs, it's just the way things are.

13. No one impeached Clinton just a few days after the Lewinski story broke either
It took a very long time for the Republicans to build the mountain out of that molehill.

Don't worry. Cain is toast.

14. Not really a valid comparison.
A comparison between the allegations, settlements, and reactions surrounding Clinton's and Cain's histories would be more meaningful imo.

18. Maybe they can present Cain as being "pre-impeached" ...
so all that can be out of the way before the election.
